Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to work carried out by Stephen Grieves Carpentry & Construction, trading as SGC Carpentry & Construction, 46 The Winter Knoll, Littlehampton, BN17 6NB. Your written quote may add terms specific to your job.

1. Quotes

Quotes are free and without obligation, and are usually sent within 5 days of our visit. A quote is based on what we could see and what you told us at the time.

2. Changes and hidden problems

If you ask for changes, or we find problems that could not reasonably be seen when quoting (for example rotten timber behind a wall), we will explain and agree any extra cost with you before continuing.

3. Materials

Natural timber varies in grain and colour. Where you supply your own materials, we will advise on suitability but are not responsible for defects in them.

4. Timescales

Start dates and durations are given in good faith and can be affected by weather, material availability and other trades.

5. Payment

Payment terms are set out in your quote.

6. Guarantee

Most jobs carry a 6-month workmanship guarantee. The terms for your job are confirmed in your quote. The guarantee does not cover misuse, normal wear, or defects in materials you supplied.

7. Insurance

We hold public liability and employers' liability insurance.

8. Your rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
