Materials, methods and variations
Fitting flat-pack and rigid units
Flat-pack units are assembled carefully so the carcass is square before it is hung. Rigid units arrive built but still need levelling and fixing. In both cases the base line is set from the highest point of the floor so the plinth can be scribed to the rest.
Worktops
Laminate and timber worktops are cut, joined and supported properly, with edges sealed against water. Solid timber worktops need oiling and room to move, and we will explain how to look after them.
Stone and quartz worktops are usually templated and fitted by the supplier; we make sure the units underneath are level and strong enough to take them.
Doors, panels and details
Hinges are adjusted in three directions to get even gaps. End panels, cornice, pelmet and plinths are cut to suit, and fillers are scribed where units meet uneven walls. Integrated appliance doors are fitted with the correct brackets so they open smoothly and stay aligned.
Refits and repairs
Not every job is a full new kitchen. Replacing doors on sound carcasses, adding a unit or re-fitting a dropped door can give a tired kitchen new life for far less. We are happy to quote for smaller jobs.
